A Kontakt library bearing the "Yamaha Motif XF8" name will give you the samples but not the soul . If you need that early 2010s R&B, hip-hop, or pop-rock workstation sound for quick sketching, it works. But for the expressive, responsive, "instrument-in-the-room" feel of the real XF8, Kontakt falls short. Spend the extra money on the hardware or invest in more modern Kontakt libraries (e.g., Noire , The Giant , Analog Dreams ) that aren’t trying to emulate a decade-old workstation.
