Paste the tracker URL (from the trackers tab) into your browser. If you get no response or a DNS error, the tracker may be permanently down. One more thing – are you using an old uTorrent version? Versions before 2.x sometimes break due to outdated DNS handling. If none of the above works, consider switching to qBittorrent or Deluge – both are actively maintained and don’t have this issue.

ipconfig /flushdns Then restart uTorrent.

(Windows) Open Command Prompt as Admin and run:

Just long enough to test if they’re blocking uTorrent. If it starts working, add uTorrent to the allowed list.

Right-click the stalled torrent → Update Tracker → Force Re-announce .

Download qBittorrent (free, open source). If the same torrent works there, the issue is uTorrent-specific – likely an outdated/buggy version.
