Prologue: The Beginning of the End Dr. Malcolm Crowe (voiced in Tamil), a renowned child psychologist in Philadelphia, returns home with his wife Anna after receiving a lifetime achievement award. Suddenly, a former patient, Vincent Grey—whom Malcolm failed to treat years ago—appears naked in their bathroom. Vincent, suffering from severe paranoia and hallucinations, accuses Malcolm of abandoning him. In a fit of rage, Vincent shoots Malcolm in the stomach and then turns the gun on himself.
The next autumn, Malcolm survives the shooting but is emotionally distant from Anna, who has grown cold. Desperate to redeem his past failure, Malcolm takes on a new case: Cole Sear (voice: Sarathkumar or similar Tamil child artist), a troubled 8-year-old boy.
