Pokemon Xyz Series < TESTED >
On paper, it’s defensible. Alain was an unstoppable powerhouse. The battle itself is a 10/10 masterpiece of animation and tension. But the context is infuriating. The season spent 40+ episodes building up Ash-Greninja as an unbeatable, legendary-bond superweapon. The narrative screamed for Ash to finally win a league. Instead, he lost to a non-standard fire-type move (Blast Burn) clipping Greninja's feet.
The bond phenomenon between Ash and Greninja is the emotional heart of the season. It’s not just a power-up; it’s a physical and emotional burden. Ash feeling Greninja’s pain, losing control of the transformation, and the bittersweet resolution of their bond is some of the most mature writing the series has ever attempted. It makes the climax of their story arc genuinely moving. pokemon xyz series
