“Give me two minutes.” Act Four: The Negotiation of Souls Scene 5: Interior, Library – The Table Patience enters. She sits directly across from Thorne, the rifle pointed at her chest. The hostages are huddled in a corner. She places her hands flat on the table.
(sighs) “You don’t follow protocol.” “Terrified
“You’re not afraid.”
“Get me a line. Not a phone. A throwback. A landline with a bell ringer. Old-fashioned.” He’s armed, he’s unstable, and he’s got six
Patience sits alone in her car. She pulls down the visor mirror. Beneath a photo of a younger woman with a badge (her former partner, deceased), she writes a new note: “Day 1,486 of staying.” She starts the engine.
