While it didn’t run Symbian ^3 or Meego, the E71 ran games flawlessly. The 320x240 landscape resolution and the physical keyboard made it superior to many touch-only phones of the era.
If you find an old E71 in a drawer today, charge it up, sideload Diamond Rush or Asphalt 4 , and remember a time when Java was king.
But for many of us, it was also a surprisingly capable gaming device.
