One of the more overlooked entries in 1970s Danish domestic drama, Mors Hus has finally been given an English subtitle track. The film follows [brief synopsis – e.g., three siblings returning to their childhood home after their mother’s death].

The language is sparse but crucial – much of the film’s power lives in what’s said between long silences. The new English subs preserve the original’s raw, unpolished rhythm.

A raw, atmospheric Danish drama about grief, isolation, and the ghosts we carry inside four walls. Little known, deeply felt. If you like Bergman’s Cries and Whispers or Tarkovsky’s stillness, this one will haunt you.

Here’s a draft post for social media, a blog, or a film forum about with English subtitles. Option 1: Short & punchy (for Instagram, Twitter/X, or Letterboxd)
