For decades, Chucky has survived everything from voodoo rituals to a military-grade meltdown. But in the Colombian fan film El Hijo de Chucky , the killer doll faces his most terrifying challenge yet: fatherhood. What starts as a low-budget novelty quickly reveals itself as one of the most charming and brutally creative entries in the unofficial Chucky canon.

The pacing drags in the second act. Too much time is spent on the podcasters arguing about true-crime ethics, which feels like filler. Also, Tiffany’s design is rough—a painted mannequin with a wig—and it takes you out of the otherwise solid practical effects.

The film picks up after the events of Seed of Chucky (but ignores the TV series' timeline). Glen/Glenda is out of the picture, and Tiffany has grown bored. In a drunken rage, Chucky accidentally creates a new "progeny" using a Good Guy doll and the corpse of a failed ventriloquist dummy. The result is —a miniature, stitched-up doll who just wants his father’s approval. When a group of true-crime podcasters breaks into the abandoned house where Chucky has been hiding, Carlitos must decide: be a good son, or become a killer like dad.
